One of the most in-demand jazz drummers around
Finely tuned and powerful - An extremely talented and
in-demand drummer, Keith's special love
is jazz and no one plays it like Keith. Just combine his talent with power, heart, inspiration, and unsurpassably good taste
and you have Keith Copeland. Big music from a big heart.
Born in New York City, Keith was raised in the Jazz
world, the son of virtuoso trumpet player Ray Copeland. Keith's album credits are a very long
list and so are the names of those he has played, toured or recorded with, and include:
Hank Jones, the Heath Brothers, George Russell, Stan Getz, Cab Calloway, Dizzie Gillespie,
Sweets Edison, Stevie Wonder, Marvin Gaye, Billy Taylor, Johnny Griffin (and this is just
a small sample). The Legendary Alan Dawson who was one of Keith's teachers said: "Keith Copeland is without a doubt one
of the most talented musicians I have come across in my thirty some years of teaching." (Alan Dawson, 1993).
Keith's education and list of teaching credits is extensive. He is presently based
in Germany, from where he jets all over the globe, performing,
recording and teaching.
